Masterfully crafted, hand carved and bound in a traditional manner. Every carving has a special meaning or story behind its design. It is believed that a carving, when worn with respect, or given and received with love, takes on part of the spirit of those who wear or handle it. In this way it becomes a link between friends and family, spanning time and distance.

The shark tooth (niho mano) represents protection, guidance, strength and adaptability. Made from a special piece of New Zealand Heart Rimu, this taonga comes with a waxed braid cord and handcarved wooden toggle.

Each Taonga we make is a one of a kind piece that will not be repeated.

Please note that while we do our very best to make sure these photographs are an accurate portrayal of the item, due to the many variations in monitors and browsers, the colour of this Taonga may appear differently on your monitor than in person.
